Florence, KY - June 14, 2010:
Parkway Products announced today the expansion of their Boone County, Kentucky aerospace & defense production facility. The expansion will increase production capacity to over 125,000 square feet. Parkway’s Boone County facility manufactures components for aircraft engines, composite aerostructures and defense systems.
“Despite 2009’s economic setbacks, the increasing use of composites in the aerospace industry has continued to grow” said Nick Bitter, Vice President of Aerospace, Defense & Specialty Products for Parkway. “This expansion will allow the Boone County plant to further strengthen its leadership position in composites manufacturing. The additional footprint will specifically allow more capacity for additional autoclaves and work cells dedicated to composite bonding and other aerospace manufacturing processes.”
Joe Klunk, President & CEO of Parkway, praised the plant’s workforce for its high marks in quality and productivity and the Commonwealth of Kentucky for providing economic incentives to make the project possible.
