The Thixomolding process is able to produce ultra thin walls and complex, tight tolerance designs. Thixomolded magnesium is lighter than cast steel or aluminum, has a superior surface finish and is produced in a cleaner, more economical process. It is also stiffer than plastics, is thermally conductive and has RFI/EMI shielding properties without plating.
