Summary

This position provides Quality Engineering support to an automotive tier 1 though tier 3 injection molding / paint/laser etching supplier. Must be experienced with all aspects of the quality system including, but not limited to: APQP, PPAP, product launch, root cause analysis, corrective actions and continuous improvement tools.  This position will be responsible for direct customer contact.

Specific duties include:
Plan, promote and participate in activities to support safety, lean manufacturing and qualit
Participate as a trainer whenever possible
Ensure complete compliance with all quality system standards followed by Parkway Products such as cGMP/QS and TS 16949
Lead, direct and emphasize the pivotal role of SPC for the control of all manufacturing procedures Participate in the creation of quality improvement objectives
Work with appropriate manufacturing and quality personnel to create tactical plans to achieve desired improvement objectives
Develop and analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine present capabilities where necessary; direct the efforts of personnel involved in the inspection/assessment of product, material or facilities
Investigate, respond and assist in the resolution of customer complaints; ensure compliance with quality procedures and departmental work instructions
Work with area managers to correct non-compliance or to modify said documents
Ensure compliance with safety and quality system standards by performing audits
Help prepare and ensure compliance with the financial budget
Provide support and assistance to supervisory staff relative to employee relations and employment issues
Participate in internal customer and 3rd party audits. 
Work independently and as part of a team, and maintain excellent work and attendance record.

Essential Functions

This position will be accountable for operating as customer liaison for all production and quality problems in addition to furnishing effective root cause analysis and corrective actions. Knowledge of the PPAP system is a must including control plan, process flow, and process failure mode effects analysis development, appearance approvals, material certifications, gage R&Rs, gage certifications, capability, testing validation, GD&T, and warrants. For automotive applications, assure that the mold and process approval procedure conforms to AIAG requirements including the generation of a PPAP package in compliance with TS16949. 

Requirements

B.S. Degree in an engineering field or 5-7 years experience in an automotive quality engineering environment, with at least 2 years experience with plastic injection molding and/or interior painting.

Software knowledge required:  Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Power Point. Minitab experience a plus.

Bi-lingual, Spanish and English speaking preferred but not required.

ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Technician (CQT) preferred.
