Florence, KY - July 21, 2008:

Parkway Products, a global leader in high performance molding technologies, today announced the addition of thermoset injection molding to their Enterprise Molded Products group’s production technologies. Thermoset injection production will occur alongside of Parkway EMP’s existing thermoset compression and transfer molding operations in Saltillo, Mexico.

“The addition of thermoset injection molding to the Enterprise Molded Products group is a logical extension of our existing strategy” said Al Ridilla, vice president of Parkway’s EMP group. “By adding thermoset injection molding to our existing thermoset molding, thermoplastic injection and assembly operations, it makes our Saltillo facility one of Mexico’s largest, most complete molding facilities.”

Parkway’s Enterprise Molded Products facility in Saltillo also features thermoplastic injection molding and mechanical and electronic assembly capabilities. The 110,000 ft2 facility, located approximately 45 miles southwest of Monterrey, is ISO9001:2000 and UL certified, and produces components for major transportation, medical and power distribution OEMs.

“Thermoset injection molding can offer more intricate design possibilities” said Tom Marcincavage, Parkway’s principal engineer for thermoset materials. “The process is also more automated and can reduce production cycle times, compared with an equal tonnage compression molded part.”

Parkway has been a North American thermoset molder since the 1950’s. Thermoset molding capabilities were expanded to the Saltillo EMP facility beginning in 2006.
