Thermoplastic Injection Molding - Six North American Facilities (see below)

Parkway entered the Thermoplastic Injection Molding industry in the 1950s and established the process as one of its core technologies. We use our Thermoplastic Injection Molding capabilities to meet needs in all seven markets we serve. A substantial amount of Parkway’s Thermoplastic is done using engineering grade polymers and other differentiating processes and manufacturing abilities such as multi-shot molding, insert molding, structural foam molding, and overmolding. We also offer the following secondary operations: machining, welding, bonding, pad printing, thermal transfer, and assembly.

Key Benefits of Thermoplastic Injection Molding:

    • Low labor costs
    • Fast productions with high volume capability
    • Design, material, and color flexibility
    • Multiple Thermoplastic Capabilities: Insert Molding, Multi-Shot, Assembly Applications, High Volume Support, Overmolding, Structural Foam

Insert Molding

Insert molding is a process in which plastic is molded around a metal insert, allowing the molded portion of a component to surround connectors, pins, or threads to be joined as one. Parkway has experience with molding around complex inserts in a variety of thermoplastic materials using vertical insert injection molding machines.

Multi-Shot Molding

Multi-shot molding is a single process using two materials, which may differ in color or types of polymers, to produce a two component molded part. This one-machine cycle eliminates assembly costs and secondary operations therefore reducing labor costs and increasing productivity.

Assembly Applications

Parkway has multiple facilities capable of complex thermoplastic assembly operations.  Benefits such as automation allow Parkway's customers to see significant cost savings.

High Volume Support

Parkway meets high volume demands while maintaining world class quality levels. By automating material storage and molding processes, Parkway can ensure that volume, quality, and delivery requirements are met.

Overmolding - One material is layered on top of another; for applications requiring shock resistance, ease of grip, or aesthetic appeal

Structural foam - A chemical blowing agent is added to the resin, producing a rigid, closed-cell foam matrix; appropriate for large structural components to produce thick walls

Facility Locations

Parkway has six Thermoplastic Operations in the United States and Mexico.
